Pricing a man & van job — the basics
How much should I charge for a man and van job?+
Most UK man and van drivers charge £30–£45 an hour for the van and driver, plus mileage (remember to count the drive back), with a call-out minimum of around £40–£50 so small jobs are still worth it. This calculator adds all of that up from your own rates.
Should I charge for the return journey?+
Yes. If you drive 15 miles to a job you also drive 15 miles home empty — the van and diesel cost the same both ways. Tick "charge mileage for the drive back" and the calculator counts both legs.
What extras do drivers usually forget to charge for?+
